2014 Jim Brown National Championship

The 2014 Brown National Championship was completed yesterday with Western Australia defeating the Barbarians 4-3 in the gold medal game. The Brown tournament is open to players 17 years and over, with those older than 20 must not have played more than six AIHL games in the current season. This years tournament consisted of teams from New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and a Barbarians team. The Barbarians, who were combination of Western Australian and Queensland players, were a late entry into the tournament after Victoria pulled out at the last minute. All games were held at the Xtreme Ice Arena in Perth and the tournament ran from 2 October to 5 October. Western Australia’s Paul Graham top scored for the tournament with 15 points and Mark McCann finished as the top goaltender with a save percentage of 0.940.
