Australian Inline team opens World Championship with a win

The Australian national inline hockey team have won their opening game of the 2015 IIHF World Championship Division I tournament, defeating Argentina 6-3. Brenton Fitzgerald was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Latvia shutout Austria 12-0, Hungary defeated Croatia 5-1 and Great Britain destroyed Bulgaria 16-1. After the end of the first round Australia are sitting in second place in Group D equal on points with Hungary, while Great Britain leads Group C. Australia take on Hungary today in their second game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was in the quarterfinals of the 2014 IIHF World Championship Division I tournament where Australia defeated Hungary 3-1.
