League news

  • The league has completed their 2016 Draft with 16 new players picked up across four teams. The Sting picked up the most with seven new players added to their roster, the Raptors picked up five, and the Bombers and Rebels took two each. For more information see the article by the league.
  • The league has also expressed their interest in expanding to Canberra with 2017 currently slated for the expansion.

Sydney Heat

  • The Sydney Heat have folded and will not participate in the upcoming 2016 East Coast Super League season. The move comes after Ice Hockey NSW instructed the ECSL to reduce the league to five teams. The team are said to have plans to return in the future however it is unclear how many seasons they will be inactive.

Blueline Bombers

  • The Bombers have signed eight of their Heat’s former players following the team’s departure from the league. For a list of names see the post on the Bombers Facebook page.
