2016 AIHL season: Round 1

Round 1 of the 2016 Australian Ice Hockey League season has finished with wins for the CBR Brave, Newcastle North Stars and Melbourne Ice. The Brave top the standings at the end of the first round, one point clear of the second placed North Stars. Next week six teams are in action across five games while the Thunder and Adrenaline sit out on a bye.
