Round 12 of the 2016 Australian Ice Hockey League has finished with wins for the Sydney Bears, Newcastle North Stars, CBR Brave and Melbourne Ice. The Ice remain on top of the standings, ten points clear of the second placed North Stars, and become the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Next week seven teams are in action across five games, while the North Stars sit the round out on a bye.

The round also marked the 250th game for Joshua Harding of the Adelaide Adrenaline. He becomes the ninth player to reach the milestone. Harding came out of retirement to play in this weekend’s double header against North Stars and following the conclusion of second game announced his second retirement from the AIHL.
