Round 7 of the 2016-17 Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League season has finished with wins for the Sydney Sirens and Melbourne Ice. The Sirens remain on top of the standings, ten points clear of the second place Brisbane Goannas. The Sirens two wins also hands them the 2016-17 regular season title with two games still to play. Competition resumes on 18 February with the Goannas hosting the Ice at Iceworld Boondall.

In other news the Sydney Sirens Stephenie Cochrane has been named the January Skaters Network Player of the Month. Cochrane recorded two goals and two assists in the Sirens January games against the Melbourne Ice.
