The Adelaide Generals have won the 2016-17 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League playoffs, defeating the Perth Sharks 5-3 in the final. The Generals also took out the regular season title after finishing in first place, two points ahead of the Brisbane Blitz. After the completion of the final round of regular season games the top four teams advanced to the playoffs with the first placed Generals drawn against the fourth placed Sabres and the second placed Blitz drawn against the third placed Sharks. The Generals won their semifinal match shutting out the Sabres 5-0 and advanced to the final against the Sharks who had defeated the Blitz 5-2. The Generals went on to win the final while the Sabres defeated the Blitz 6-3 to take the bronze medal. The regular season and playoff titles are the first for the Generals who joined the league this season after playing in the Tier 2 competition in 2015-16.
