2017 Women’s World Championships: Australia lose to the Netherlands

The Australian women’s national team have lost their fourth game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament, losing to the Netherlands 1-3. Forward Sharna Godfrey was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Great Britain defeated Slovenia 8-2 and South Korea beat North Korea 3-0. At the end of the fourth round Australia has dropped to fifth place, trailing the leader South Korea by nine points. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Saturday where Australia take on Great Britain in their final game of the tournament.
