The 2017 Jim Brown National Championship has finished with Queensland defeating Victoria 2-0 in the final to claim the Jim Brown Trophy. It is Queensland’s first win since 1976, a drought which was the longest in the tournaments 54-year history. The tournament was open to players 17 years and over, however players over the age of 23 must have played less than six AIHL games in the current season. This year’s tournament consisted of teams from the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia. All games were held at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium in Newcastle and the tournament ran from 4 October to 7 October 2017.
