2018 U18 World Championships: Australia lose to Great Britain

The Australian men’s national under-18 team have lost 2-9 to Great Britain in their second game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Alternate captain Michael Riley picked up one of the teams two goals and was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Poland defeated South Korea 4-0 and Lithuania beat Estonia 7-0. At the end of round two Australia remain in last place on the standings, six points behind the leaders Great Britain. The teams have a rest day today before returning on Wednesday where Australia takes on Estonia. The last time these two teams met was at the 2012 World Championship Division II Group B tournament where Australia lost 4-7.
