2018 World Championships: Australia beat Belgium

The Australian men’s national team have beat Belgium 6-0 in their second game of the 2018 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Goaltender Anthony Kimlin stopped all 24 shots to earn the shutout and was named best Australian player of the game. In other games of the day Serbia defeated China 3-1 and the Netherlands beat Iceland 11-1. Australia moves up to second in the standings while the Netherlands lead with the best goal difference. The teams have a rest day today and return on Thursday where Australia take on China for their third game of the tournament. The last time these two teams met was at the 2011 New Zealand Winter Games where Australia won 15-2.
