2019 U20 World Championships: Australia finish second

The Australian men’s national under-20 team have lost 1-5 to China in their gold medal match of the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III tournament. As a result China is promoted to Division II Group B for 2020 while Australia will remain in Division III. Forward Liam Manwarring was named the Australian player of the tournament. In the other games played South Africa defeated New Zealand 5-3 to finish seventh, Iceland beat Chinese Taipei 5-3 to finish fifth and Turkey shutout Bulgaria 6-0 to claim third.
