AIHL to play sixty minute games

The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) have announced that they are switching to a three-20 minute period game format starting in the 2020 season. From 2013 to 2019 the AIHL played a shortened 50 minute game of two 15 minute periods and final 20 minute period and prior to 2013 season the league played a 45 minute length match. The move aligns the AIHL with the international standard game length of 60 minutes. For more information see the announcement from the league.
