The Central Coast Rhinos are expected to join the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) from 2023 after a successful application. The Rhinos, who last played in the AIHL in 2008, will compete in a series of exhibition games during the 2022 season. Details of the exhibition games are yet to be released but will be worked into the existing 2022 season schedule. The Rhinos are the second expansion team announced by the AIHL this year with the Brisbane Lightning also expected to join in 2023.
