The Australian Ice Hockey League have introduced a new format for the Goodall Cup playoffs starting in 2022. The playoffs will now consist of three games run over three days. The top two ranked teams will compete for a spot in the grand final while the third and fourth ranked teams will compete for a spot in a preliminary final against the loser of top two ranked game. The 2022 Goodall Cup playoffs are scheduled for 2 September to 4 September at the O’Brien Icehouse.

- Semifinal 1: 3rd – 4th (17:00, 2 September 2022)
- Semifinal 2: 1st – 2nd (20:30, 2 September 2022)
- Preliminary: Winner SF1 – Loser SF2 (17:00, 3 September 2022)
- Grand final: Winner Preliminary – Winner SF2 (14:00, 4 September 2022)
