The Newcastle Northstars have announced their roster for the 2022 AIHL season. Liam Manwarring takes over the captaincy from Robert Malloy while Patrick Nadin and Patrick Ward will serve as the two alternate captains. Daniel Berno, David Jeremy, Robert Malloy and Shane Southwood were earlier announced as having signed with The Coast and at current it isn’t clear how this will play out once the PHL season begins.

Changes to the roster from the 2019 season see the addition of Daniel Berno, James Downie (from Melbourne Ice), Ryan Duchemin, Hunter Ellen, Mackenzie Gallagher, Ethan Hawes (from Willmar WarHawks), Cameron Hughes, David Jeremy, Travis Lang, Sean Oultram, Beau Taylor, Riley Tonks (from Hässelby Kälvesta) and Franki Vlasek.

While dropped are Sammy Banga, Jayson Chalker, Dayne Davis (to Melbourne Ducks), David Ferrari, Dominik Gabaj, Thomas Kiliwnik (to Brisbane Lightning), Mathew Lindsay, Trey Phillips, Jayden Ryan, Alistair Rye (to The Coast), Luke Simpson, Ondrej Smach, Darren Wade and Matt Wetini.
