The Newcastle Northstars have defeated the Sydney Ice Dogs 10–1 in their semifinal game of the 2026 Goodall Cup playoffs. Newcastle had qualified for the match after finishing the regular season in first place, and Sydney had qualified after defeating Perth Thunder in yesterday’s preliminary round. Newcastle now advances to tomorrow’s Goodall Cup final where they will take on the winner of today’s other semifinal match between Canberra Brave and the Melbourne Mustangs.
