The Australian para national team have lost 0–25 to Thailand’s para national team in their opening game of the 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Championships C-Pool tournament in Bangkok, Thailand. The award for best Australian player of the match was given to forward Stephen Shaw.

In the other game of the day, Finland defeated Austria 9–1. At the end of the first round, Australia sits last on the standings while Thailand leads with three points. Competition continues today with Australia taking on Austria for their second game of the tournament.
