2018 Phillip Ginsberg National Championship

The 2018 Phillip Ginsberg National Championship has finished with New South Wales defeating Victoria 6-5 in a shootout to claim the gold medal. It is the second Phillip Ginsberg title in a row for New South Wales having beat Victoria in the 2017 final. The tournament is open to players 13 and under and was held between the State Associations. This years tournament consisted of teams from the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia. All games were held at the O’Brien Group Arena and the tournament ran from 16 August to 19 August 2018.

2018 National Championship dates announced

Ice Hockey Australia have announced the dates and locations for the 2018 National Championships. The end date of the Ginsberg tournament is still to be confirmed.

– Sydney Tange Memorial Tournament: Newcastle, 18 July to 21 July
– Kurt DeFris Memorial Tournament: Canberra, 1 August – 5 August
– Phillip Ginsberg Memorial Tournament: Melbourne, 14 August – TBC*
– Jim Brown Memorial Tournament: Perth, 26 September to 29 September
