– The Ice added forward Ethan Cornford to their roster in yesterdays game against the Melbourne Mustangs. Cornford has spent the last two seasons playing in the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League, most recently for the New Tecumseth Civics where he recorded 23 points in 41 games. Cornford last played in the AIHL for the Melbourne Mustangs during the 2015 season.
– The Bears signed goaltender Justin Harrison as a backup in yesterdays game against the Adelaide Adrenaline. The Bears have now dressed four different backup goaltenders this season however none have yet to play with starting goaltender Anthony Kimlin playing all of the teams minutes.
The Australian men’s national under-20 team have lost their fourth game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division II Group B tournament, losing to Serbia 0-6. Forward Ethan Cornford was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day South Korea defeated Mexico 12-0 and Spain beat Belgium 6-3. After the end of the fourth round Australia remain in last place on the standings, eleven points behind the leaders Spain. The teams have a rest day today and return on Friday with Australia taking on Belgium in their final game of the tournament.

Melbourne Mustangs have announced that Ethan Cornford has signed with the Iowa Wild AAA Elite U18 of the East Coast Elite League U18 division for the 2014-15 season. This will be Cornford’s first season outside of Australia having last season played for the Melbourne Whalers in the Australian Junior Ice Hockey League.
