2014-15 AJIHL Season: Round 9

Round 9 of the 2014-15 AJIHL season has finished with the Melbourne Glaciers winning both games against the Melbourne Whalers. The Sydney Sabres remain in first place in the standings, three points ahead of the second placed Glaciers. The AJIHL now goes into hibernation for the christmas break and returns in 2015 with the two Perth teams kicking off Round 10 on 24 January.

2014-15 AWIHL Season: Round 4

Round 4 of the 2014-15 AWIHL season has finished with the Sydney Sirens winning both of their games against the Brisbane Goannas. Following their wins the Sirens move into equal first with the Melbourne Ice with both teams sitting on nine points.

Tobin and Newmark to play in NCAA Division III

Perth Thunder’s Shaun Tobin has joined the College of St. Scholastica‘s ice hockey team to compete in the NCAA Division III‘s Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. Also relocating to the United States is Tim Newmark who played for the Sydney Bears in 2014 AIHL season. Newmark has joined Framingham State University‘s ice hockey team to compete in the NCAA Division III’s Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Australian U18 Women to host New Zealand

The Australian Women’s National under-18 team is set to host the New Zealand Women’s National under-18 team in a five game series starting on 13 December at the Medibank Icehouse. In addition to the five games there is also a Youth Olympics event scheduled for 16 December. The New Zealand roster for the series has been released on their Federations website.

2014-15 AWIHL Season: Round 3

Round 3 of the 2014-15 AWIHL season has finished with the Melbourne Ice and Adelaide Adrenaline splitting the points. The Ice move into first place in the standings, one point clear of the Adrenaline.

Round 8 of the 2014-15 AJIHL has finished with the Perth Sharks winning both of their games against the Sydney teams. The Sydney Sabres remain on top of the standings, eight points clear of the Sharks who have now moved into second place.

Darge Traded to the Danville Dashers

The Dayton Demonz have traded Wehebe Darge to the Danville Dashers just four four days after adding him to their roster from the injured reserve. Darge who had played in seven games for the Demonz this season was traded for future considerations. The Dashers are currently sitting in second last place in the Federal Hockey League this season, having managed only two wins from their eleven games.

2014-15 AJIHL Season: Round 7

Round 7 of the 2014-15 AJIHL season has finished with the Sydney Sabres winning both of their games against the Sydney Wolf Pack. The game between the Perth Sharks and Perth Pelicans had to be cancelled due to pipe issues at the Xtreme Ice Arena which led to soft ice. The Perth clubs anticipate to reschedule the game in the next few weeks. The Sabres remain on top of the standings and have now moved eight points clear of the second placed Melbourne Glaciers.

Due to the AJIHL not posting the full 2014-15 season schedule on their Pointstreak page I have decided to add it here based on the schedule released by the Sydney Wolf Pack via their Facebook page. The Pointstreak website is currently missing the last ten games of the regular season and has no information on the finals.
