2014-15 AJIHL Season: Round 11

Round 11 of the 2014-15 AJIHL season has finished with wins for all six teams in the league. The Sydney Sabres remain in first place, two points ahead of the Perth Sharks and Melbourne Glaciers. Next week the two Melbourne teams are in Sydney and the Perth teams take on each other in a double header.

2014-15 AWIHL Season: Round 8

Round 8 of the 2014-15 AWIHL season has finished with the Melbourne Ice taking wins in both games against the Adelaide Adrenaline. Following their wins, the Melbourne Ice claimed the regular season title after moving 12 points clear of the second placed Sydney Sirens with only two more games to play in the season. Next week the Sirens host the Ice at the Sydney Ice Arena in a double header.

2014-15 AJIHL Season: Round 10

Round 10 of the 2014-15 AJIHL season has finished with the Perth Sharks defeating the Perth Pelicans in both games of the round. Following their two wins the Sharks move into second place in the standings, two points behind the Sydney Sabres. Next week the all six teams are in action with the two Sydney teams in Perth and the Melbourne teams take on each other in a double header.

2014-15 AWIHL Season: Round 7

Round 7 of the 2014-15 AWIHL season has finished with wins for the Melbourne Ice and Sydney Sirens. The Ice remain on top of the standings are six points clear of the second placed Sirens. Competition resumes on 31 January with the Ice taking on the Adrenaline in Adelaide.

Sydney Bears relocate to Penrith Ice Palace

The Sydney Bears have announced that they will be moving to the Penrith Ice Palace for the upcoming 2015 AIHL season. The Bears previously played out of Penrith from 2007 to 2011 before relocating to the Sydney Ice Arena in Baulkham Hills. The move comes after the Sydney Ice Arena’s owners were granted permission to develop the site on which the ice rink sits.

Former Olympian Basil Hansen Passes Away

Ice Hockey Victoria have announced the passing of Basil Hansen, a former Olympian and patron of Ice Hockey Victoria. Hansen was part of the Australian national ice hockey team that participated in the 1960 Winter Olympics and played in four of the teams six games, scoring one goal.
