iceHQ, a new ice arena in Victoria, is set to open tomorrow. The arena is located in the suburb of Reservoir and will be the third for the state after the O’Brien Group Arena and Oakleigh’s Olympic Ice Skating Centre. iceHQ’s ice sheet is 60 metres x 26 metres and the arena has a combined seating and standing capacity of 500. 2018 ECSL season: Round 13
Round 13 of the 2018 East Coast Super League season has finished with wins for the Sydney Sting and Newcastle North Stars. The Sting remain on top of the standings, eight points clear of the second placed Penrith Raptors. Next week the Raptors play host to the Sting and the Nudo Bombers take on the Reach Rebels.

2018 AIHL season: Round 10
Round 10 of the 2018 Australian Ice Hockey League season has finished with wins for the Melbourne Ice, Newcastle Northstars, CBR Brave and Melbourne Mustangs. The Brave remain on top of the standings, nine points clear of the second placed Northstars. Next week seven teams are in action across six games while the Perth Thunder sit the round out on a bye.
The match between the Sydney Bears and Melbourne Ice also served as the fifth annual Canada Day Classic. The Ice defeated the Bears 2-1 to claim the title for the second year in a row.

Adelaide Adrenaline
– Jake Riley has been added to the Adrenaline roster after returning from Canada. Riley spent the 2017-18 season playing for A21 Academy in the Prep School Hockey Federations U18 league where he recorded nine points in 20 games.
– Darren Corstens has also been added to the roster after training with the club for the last month. Corstens recorded eight goals and five assists from 20 games for the club in 2017.
Adelaide Valkyries roster for Round 2
The Adelaide Valkyries have announced their roster for Round 2 of the 2018 Australian Women’s Tier 2 Show Case Series. Round 2 gets underway on 28 July at the Adelaide Ice Arena.

Australia to compete in the 2018 Winter Games NZ
Australia will return to New Zealand in September to compete in the 2018 Winter Game NZ’s Trans-Tasman Challenge. The series will see the Australian men’s national team take on New Zealand at the Queenstown Ice Arena on 6, 7 and 8 September 2018. Australia won the 2017 Challenge two games to one, beating New Zealand 4-3 in a shootout in the final match. For more information see the Winter Games NZ website
