The Australian women’s national under-18 team have lost 0-2 to the Netherlands in their second game of the 2020 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Matilda Pethrick was named best Australian player of the match. In the other game of the day Chinese Taipei defeated Kazakhstan 4-3 in overtime. At the end of the second round Australia drop to third in the standings, while Chinese Taipei remains on top. The teams have a rest day today and return on Tuesday where Australia will take on Chinese Taipei in their final game of the tournament. The last time these two teams at the World Championships was in 2019 where Australia lost 2-6. The two teams also played an exhibition game in the lead up to this tournament where Australia lost 3-5.
