The National Hockey Super League held their 2021 draft yesterday at the Big Shed Brewing Concern. 59 players were selected by the three teams with the Adelaide Xtreme and Port Adelaide Brewers picking up 20 players each and the Noarlunga Stars selecting 19 players.
Players from the South Australian Premier League made up the majority of the picks with 50 of the 59 players having come from the league. Fourteen of those 50 players are from the Adelaide Blackhawks, ten from both the Adelaide Jokers and Adelaide Tigers, nine from the Adelaide Falcons and seven from the Adelaide Redwings. The remaining nine players were drawn from four outside of South Australia with four from New South Wales, one from Queensland, one from Victoria, two from Western Australia and one returning from Canada.
