The Australian women’s national team have defeated South Africa 17–0 in their third game of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament. Forward Ashlie Aparicio was named best Australian player of the match. With their win Australia moves clear at the top of the standings, three points ahead of the second placed Iceland. The team returns to action on 22 May when they take on Iceland for their final game of the tournament. These two teams last met at the 2020 World Championships where Australia won 6–1.
