The Australian women’s national team have lost 1–2 to Iceland following a shootout in their final game of the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship Division II Group B tournament. Following their loss Australia drops to second on the standings while Iceland finishes first and gains promotion to next years Division II Group A tournament. Captain Rylie Ellis was named best Australian player of the match and was selected as the best defender of the tournament by the IIHF directorate. Emily Davis-Tope was named as the best Australian player of the tournament. In the other games since our last update Turkey picked up a 10–0 win over South Africa and a 16–3 win over Croatia and Iceland beat Croatia 11–1.
