The Ice Hockey Classic organisers have announced that the 2022 Ice Hockey 3’s tournament will be postponed to June and July 2023. The uncertainty of travel was quoted as the reason for the postponement. The tournament was originally scheduled for October 2022 with games to be held in Adelaide, Auckland, Brisbane, Dunedin, Melbourne, Sydney and Wellington.
It is currently unclear if the 2023 tournament will be in the new Ice Hockey 3’s format or the original Ice Hockey Classic format. The organisers had earlier announced that the Ice Hockey Classic was set to return in June and July 2023.

- 4 February 2023: The Ice Hockey 3’s tournament has been rescheduled for July 2023 with venues and dates to be confirmed.
- The July 2023 tournament has also been cancelled with no new announcements made by the organisers
