The Perth Sharks will not participate in the 2022–23 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League season. The Sharks had initially been planning on competing in competition, sending out expressions of interest in September and October as well as planning training sessions. Neither the Sharks nor Ice Hockey Western Australia have stated the reason for their withdrawal. Three Western Australian players, Dillon Dewar, Brayden Maybee and Livan Du Toit, have however signed with the Melbourne Glaciers ahead of the season start on 16 November.
