The Sydney Bears have announced the signing of three new players for the upcoming 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) season.
Forward Eugene Ju joins the club after spending 2023 playing for the Polyflor Raptors in the East Coast Super League where he recorded four goals and nine assists from 15 games. Ju is also a former member of the Sydney Ice Dogs having played ten games for the club during the 2022 AIHL season.
Defender Tyrone Oxlade joins the club after spending 2023 with the Polyflor Raptors in the East Coast Super League where he recorded six goals and two assists from 13 games. More recently Oxlade joined the Sydney Sabres for the 2023–24 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League season and represented Australia at the 2024 IIHF U20 World Championships in Serbia. Oxlade is also currently representing Australia at the 2024 IIHF U18 World Championships in Spain.
Defender Mac Tutton joins the club after spending 2023 with the Central Coast Rhinos, where he played in six games, and with Sydney Bombers team in the East Coast Super League where he played eleven games and recorded two assists. During the AIHL’s off-season Tutton has been competing for HTI Stars U18 in the North American Prep Hockey League’s U18 division where he has recorded two goals and an assist from four games. He is also currently representing Australia at the IIHF U18 World Championships in Spain.
