Canberra Brave have announced the signing of New Zealand forward Jacob Carey for the upcoming 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Carey has spent the 2023–24 season playing for the New Jersey Rockets in the United States Premier Hockey League’s Premier division where he recorded ten goals and 21 assists from 26 games. Between 2021 and 2023 Carey competed in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League, playing mainly for the Canterbury Red Devils and briefly with the Auckland Mako. He has also represented New Zealand on one occasion at the World U18 Championships and two occasions at the World U20 Championships.
