The Melbourne Mustangs have added Canadian forward Rylan Freed to their roster for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Freed spent 2023–24 playing for St. Brieux/Lake Lenore Rivals in the Wheatland Senior Hockey League where he scored 23 goals and 46 assists from 21 games.
Between 2013 and 2024 he has spent time playing in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, Federal Hockey League, Fort Carlton Hockey League, Greater Metro Hockey League, Highway Hockey League, Manitoba Junior Hockey League, Prairie Junior Hockey League, Sask West Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, and the Wheatland Senior Hockey League.
