Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2023–24 season. Today features Australians in Sweden.
Felix Fuentes (J18 Division 2 statistics): First season with Linköping Mighty Ravens after spending the previous two with Mjölby HC. Playing on their under-18 team in the J18 Division 2’s Småland division, Fuentes recorded six assists from thirteen games.
Lucas Fuentes (J18 Division 2 statistics): First season in Sweden. Playing for Linköping Mighty Ravens’ under-18 team in the J18 Division 2’s Småland division, Fuentes recorded a save percentage 0.828 and a 8.92 goals against average from twelve games. He also made a brief one game appearance for Linköping’s senior team in the HockeyTrean where he recorded a 0.824 save percentage.
Jakob Ihs-Wozniak (J20 Nationell statistics, SHL profile): Third season with Luleå HF. Primarily playing for their under-20 team in the J20 Nationell, Ihs-Wozniak recorded 25 goals and 30 assists from 40 games. During the season, Ihs-Wozniak also made his Swedish Hockey League debut, competing in two games for Luleå’s senior, and competed in three games for their under-18 team. In representative hockey, Ihs-Wozniak made his debut for the Swedish under-17 and under-18 national teams. With the under-17 national team he competed in 21 games, including seven games at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge. With the under-18 national team he competed in 20 games, including seven at the World U18 Championships. Heading into 2024–25, Ihs-Wozniak is expected to compete in his second season with Luleå’s under-20 team and is currently billed as one of the top prospects for the 2025 NHL entry draft.
Oskar Lundström (J18 Division 1 statistics): Third season in Sweden. Starting 2023–24 off with Skutskärs SK, Lundström competed in 15 games for their under-18 team in the J18 Division 1’s A Västra division, recording 20 goals and 26 assists. In addition, he also made five appearance for their under-20 in the J20 Division 1, recording three points, and four games for their senior team in the HockeyTrean, recording one point. Lundström then shifted clubs, signing with Valbo HC for the remainder of the season where he competed on both their under-18 and under-20 teams. With the under-18 team he competed in the J18 Region, recording four points from six games. While with the under-20 team in the J20 Region he competed in five games and recorded four points. Heading into 2024–25, Lundström is expected to play in his second J20 Region season with Valbo’s under-20 team.
