Melbourne Mustangs re-sign Keenan Nelson

The Melbourne Mustangs have re-signed defender Keenan Nelson for the remainder of the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Nelson was part of the team in 2023 as part of their junior development program though didn’t receive any game time. He is currently playing for the Bison IHC in Ice Hockey Victoria’s Premier League where he has two goals and three assists from eight games.

During the 2023–24 season, Nelson played for the Ontario Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League’s (CSSHL) U17 Eastern Division and the East Coast Elite League’s (ECEL) 16U division. In the CSSHL, he competed in 13 games, recording an assist, and in the ECEL Nelson recorded two goals and four assists in his 17 games.
