The Adelaide Adrenaline have submitted a protest to the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL), alleging the use of ineligible players by multiple clubs during the season. Details on which clubs have allegedly breached league rules and regulations however were not provided in the Adrenaline’s statement. The Adrenaline believe that should their claims be proven correct that there will be penalties applied to the affected clubs which could impact the upcoming 2024 Goodall Cup playoffs. The AIHL has yet to publicly respond to the claims.

The Adrenaline finished the regular season in fourth place on the Rurak Conference standings and failed to qualify for the playoffs. Should any penalties come of the Adrenaline’s claims they would need at least a twelve point swing in their favour to overtake the third placed Brisbane Lightning.
