Canberra Brave have defeated the Perth Thunder 2–1 in their preliminary round game of the 2024 Goodall Cup playoffs. Canberra had qualified for the match after finishing the regular season in second on the Rurak Conference standings and Perth had qualified following their third-place finish on the Hellyer Conference standings. Canberra now advances to the semifinal round on 24 August where they will take on the Sydney Bears at the O’Brien Icehouse.
