Sydney Bears captain Ryan Annesley has been named Defenceman of the Year for the 2024 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Annesley played twenty-four games for the Bears during the regular season, recording nine goals and thirty-three assists. He was selected for the award from the ten nominees which had been named at the end of July.
