
Canberra Brave has announced the signing of Canadian-New Zealand goaltender Joel Hasselman for the upcoming 2025 Australian Ice Hockey League season. Hasselman spent 2024 playing for Skycity Stampede of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL). During the regular season, Hasselman recorded a 0.915 save percentage and a goals against average of 2.85 across nine games. While during the playoffs, he posted a save percentage of 0.975 and a goals against average of 1.00 from one game.
Between 2016 and 2024, Hasselman has competed in six seasons of the NZIHL and one season in the Ranchland Hockey League. He also represented New Zealand at the World Championships in 2023 and 2024.
