The Sydney Sabres have defeated the Sun Devils 5–2 in their semifinal game of the 2023–24 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League playoffs at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium. The Sun Devils and Sydney Sabres had qualified for the match after finishing the regular season in second and third place respectively. Sydney now advances to tomorrow’s grand final where they will take on the Adelaide Generals who earlier won their semifinal against the Melbourne Glaciers. The Sun Devils meanwhile move on to the third-place game where they will play Melbourne.
