Australians overseas 2023–24: Canada (part 7)

Continuing our look at the Australian players who were competing overseas during the 2023–24 season. Today is Part 7 of 7 featuring Australians in Canada.

Chris Slauenwhite (SASHL profile): Third season in the SaskAlta Senior Hockey League and first with the Hillmond Hitmen after spending the previous two with the St. Walburg Eagles. Competing in eight games, Slauenwhite averaged a 0.888 save percentage and a 3.63 goals against average.

Kai Stolee (CAHL profile): First season in Canada. Playing for the Blindman Valley Broncos’ Under-15 Tier 3 team in the Central Alberta Hockey League’s U15 Tier 3 Orange division, Stolee competed in 30 games and averaged a save percentage of 0.890 during the regular season and a save percentage of 0.913 in the playoffs.

Lachlan Sucher (NAPHL profile and USPHL profile): First season in Canada after spending 2022–23 in Sweden. Playing for Crystal Beach Academy’s Prep team, Sucher spent time competing in the North American Prospects Hockey League’s (NAPHL) Varsity division, United States Premier League’s (USPHL) Elite division, and in independent competition. Across the three competitions, Sucher recorded 20 goals and 37 assists from 52 games. Heading into 2024–25, Sucher has signed with Philadelphia Hockey Club to play in the Eastern Hockey League.

Mac Tutton (NAPHL profile and HTI statistics): First season in Canada. Playing for Hockey Training Institute’s Stars 18U team in the North American Prep Hockey League’s (NAPHL) Varsity division, Tutton recorded three assists from four games. He also competed in a further four games for the Stars outside of the NAPHL.

Kilian Venhorst (SAAHL profile): First season in Canada. Playing for the Notre Dame Hounds’ Under-18 A team, Venhorst competed in 23 games, recording two goals and three assists. He also made a brief one game appearance for the Hounds Under-18 AA team in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League’s U18 division.
