The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) have awarded Mick McCormack the 2024 Patron Award in recognition of his “outstanding personal service and contribution to the AIHL for over ten years”. The award was presented prior to the start of 2024 Goodall Cup playoffs’ second semifinal between the Melbourne Ice and Newcastle Northstars.
McCormack is the sponsor of the league’s most valuable player award and previously sponsored awards at the former All-Star Weekends through the APA Group and himself personally. He was also involved in the 2021 McCormack Cup which was held as a replacement to the cancelled 2021 AIHL season.
