2016 Kurt DeFris National Championship

The 2016 Kurt DeFris National Championship has finished with New South Wales defeating Queensland 9-0 in the gold medal game. The win gives New South Wales back-to-back titles after they defeated Western Australia in the 2015 final. The tournament is open to players 15 and under and is held between the State Associations. This years tournament consisted of teams from the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia. South Australia did not return to the competition after competing in 2015. All games were held at the Hunter Ice Skating Stadium in Newcastle and the tournament ran from 14 July to 17 July.
