2017-18 AWIHL schedule released

The Australian Women’s Ice Hockey League have released the schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 season. Competition will kick off on 28 October with the Sydney Sirens hosting the Adelaide Rush in Canterbury and the Melbourne Ice taking on the Brisbane Goannas in Melbourne. The regular season will run from 28 October 2017 to 4 March 2018 followed by the playoffs on 17 and 18 March 2018 at the O’Brien Group Arena. The season format remains unchanged with teams playing each other twice at home and twice away for a total of twelve regular season games. All four teams advance to the playoffs with the semifinals followed by a grand final and a third place match.

During the regular season the Sydney Sirens will compete in two exhibition games against a team from Perth. The games will be held on 17 and 18 February at the Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink.
