2018-19 AJIHL season schedule

Thanks to Ice Hockey WA the 2018-19 Australian Junior Ice Hockey League season schedule has been released. The season kicks off on 10 November and concludes with the cross conference round and playoffs which will be held at the O’Brien Group Arena from 7 March to 10 March. The format remains unchanged from 2017-18 season. The competition is split into two conferences, Northern and Southern, with each team playing the other teams within their conference in three home and three away games. Teams from the opposing conferences face each other in one game only before the playoffs.

AJIHL news: 24 September 2018

Perth Sharks
Benjamin Breault has been named head coach for the upcoming 2018-19 season. Breault replaces Dave Ruck who earlier stepped down following his appointment as head coach of the Australian U20 national team.
Alastair Punler returns as an assistant coach and is joined by Liam Jeffries as the clubs second assistant coach.
– Gill McLean is named the team manager for the 2018-19 season.
– The Sharks have also announced the dates for their tryout/training camps. The camps will be held on 6, 13, 20 and 27 November and 4 and 11 December with all sessions being held at the Perth Ice Arena. For more information see the announcement from Ice Hockey WA.

Brisbane Blitz 2018-19 team staff

Ice Hockey Queensland have announced the Brisbane Blitz team staff for the upcoming 2018-19 AJIHL season. Sebastian Gobeil returns for his second season as head coach along with his two assistants Ben Spillane and Ben Nayler. For more information see the announcement from Ice Hockey Queensland.

Perth Sharks
Dave Ruck has stepped down from the position of head coach following his appointment to the Australian U20 national team. Ice Hockey WA currently has an expression of interest out for the position as well as the positions of assistant coach and team manager.
– The team will hold tryouts and training camps from 6 November to 11 December for the 2018-19 season.
– Ice Hockey WA also released some of the schedule for the 2018-19 season. The rest of the season schedule has yet to be released.
