Australian inline team lose to Croatia in final preliminary game

The Australian national inline hockey team have lost their first game of the 2015 IIHF World Championship Division I tournament, losing to Croatia 4-9. Brenton Fitzgerald was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Austria shutout Bulgaria 8-0, Argentina defeated Hungary 4-3 in overtime and Latvia beat Great Britain 6-5. Australia finish the preliminary round in second place in Group D, three points behind Croatia, while Latvia finished in first place in Group C. Australia now moves on to the quarterfinals after todays rest day where they have been drawn against Austria. The two teams last met in the quarterfinals of the 2012 IIHF Inline World Championship Division I tournament where Australia lost 2-7.
