Brad Vigon has been announced as the head coach of the Australian national team for the upcoming 2016 IIHF World Championships. Vigon replaces Ryan O’Handley who had held the position since 2014. Australia will compete in the Division II Group B tournament in Mexico City from 9 April to the 15 April 2016 after being relegated from Division II Group A in 2015. Vigon’s appointment comes three weeks after it was announced that he had stepped down as head coach of the Melbourne Mustangs.
Vigon will be joined by former CBR Brave head coach Matti Luoma who replaces Eric Lien as the teams assistant coach.
