The Australian women’s national under-18 team have won their second game of the 2017 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championship Division I Group B Qualification tournament, defeating Mexico 5–0. Forward Natalie Ayris was named best Australian player of the match. In the other game of the day Spain defeated Romania 9–4. As a result of their win and Spain’s defeat of Romania Australia wins the tournament with a game in hand and is promoted to Division I Group B for 2018. Australia takes on Romania today in their final game of the tournament.
