2017 Inline World Championships: Australia lose to Great Britain

The Australian men’s national inline hockey team have lost to Great Britain 1-7 in their third game of the 2017 IIHF Inline World Championship Division I tournament. Forward Brenton Fitzgerald was named best Australian player of the match. In other games of the day Hungary defeated New Zealand 7-3, Latvia beat Brazil 13-5 and Slovenia beat Argentina 9-3. Australia finishes the preliminary round in third on the Group D standings. The teams now have a rest day before moving onto the quarterfinals where Australia will meet Hungary who finished second in Group C. The last time these two teams met was in the preliminary round of the 2015 IIHF Inline World Championship Division I tournament where Australia won 7-2.
