Defenceman Jacob Laver recently completed his first season with the Red Deer Elks. Playing in the South Central Alberta Hockey League’s Midget division Laver finished the 2019-20 season with three points from four games. Prior to joining the Elks Laver had spent the 2018-19 season playing for the Red Deer Chiefs in the Rural & Edmonton Midget 15AA Hockey League.
Laver is a current member of the Australian under-18 team, first appearing at the 2019 World Championships and was named on the roster for the 2020 World Championships prior to its cancellation. In the national championships Laver has represented Victoria on multiple occasions in the Ginsberg, DeFris and Tange tournaments.
