Australians overseas: David Manning

David Manning recently completed his first season with the Oxford City Stars. Playing in the National Ice Hockey League’s South 1 division he finished the 2019-20 season with seven points and 97 penalty minutes from eleven games. Manning started his overseas career in 2002 playing junior hockey in Sweden. Since then he has played another two seasons of hockey in Sweden, four seasons in the United States, two in Canada and one in France. Manning played his first season in the United Kingdom in 2012-13 and returned in 2017 where he is on his third straight season playing in the country.

Locally Manning is a former member of the Adelaide Avalanche and the Adelaide Adrenaline, playing in the AIHL from 2005 to 2014. He is also a former member of the Australian under-18 team, playing in three World Championships from 2004 to 2006.
